Lesson for all bikers. If your front end shakes the check your brakes before you have to rely on your brakes.
This happened in MotoGP, but can also happen on the road. The front of your bike catches a bump and shakes – the shake has to be quite violent – as the front brake calipers are “floating” (they can move in and out) when the front of the bike shakes, it shakes the calipers too – which in turn knocks the pistons back into the caliper.
When you then apply the brake, the first grab of the brake lever will just push the pistons back out to where they should be (sometimes it takes more than one pull on the brake lever).
The problem is, when your brakes don’t work, your natural reaction to to then pull the brakes again, but even harder – however, this time when the brake level is pulled the brakes work and because you’re tugging on them so hard you’re just heading for an accident – most likely over the handlebars.
When racing, you tend to brake as late as possible and therefore if you’re brakes fail once… you don’t have time to brake again… Enjoy the video, and learn from it…
